HGA is seeking a Department Leader & Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead our California Electrical Group, guiding design and delivery of complex, high-impact projects in healthcare, government, higher education, and corporate facilities. You will provide both department leadership and technical expertise, mentor staff, manage resources, and collaborate across offices to ensure standards and quality.

Qualifications

• Leadership and people development experience.
• Active California PE license.
• 15+ years of experience in electrical systems design.
• Experience leading a department, practice, or team.
• Knowledge of CEC, NFPA, HCAl, Title 24, and energy codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering scope for large, complex projects through all phases.
• Provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary teams.
• Set engineering strategies and directions for complex challenges.
• Oversee analyses, specs, and construction documents for quality and compliance.
• Guide teams in resolving technical, coordination, and constructability issues.
• Support planning, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
