Job summary

TPC Packaging Solutions has been a premier provider of packaging supplies and equipment since 1967. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Electrical Engineering Co-op to support the design, development, and implementation of industrial automation and robotics projects.

The co-op will assist with electrical design, system testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and process improvement initiatives while gaining exposure to PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motor controls, sensors, and other automation

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with the design and development of electrical systems for automated manufacturing equipment and robotics applications.
• Support the creation and revision of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and engineering documentation using CAD software.
• Participate in the integration of sensors, drives, robotics, and automation technologies into new and existing manufacturing processes.
• Assist with testing, troubleshooting, validation, and commissioning of electrical and control systems.
• Help analyze equipment performance and support efforts to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
• Gain hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Production teams to support automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document project activities, test results, and engineering changes.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, components, and automation solutions.
• Follow all company safety standards and engineering best practices.
• Perform other engineering-related duties and special projects as assigned.
