Job summary

TPC Packaging Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls & Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation and robotic solutions for manufacturing environments. This hands-on role focuses on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and delivering reliable automation projects.

The ideal candidate will lead electrical system design, integrate sensors and drives, program PLCs/HMI, and stay current with robotics trends to improve performance and efficiency in production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years in industrial automation or robotics.
• Robotics and automation experience with focus on electrical system design and integration; FANUC programming a plus.
• Proficiency with PLC programming and controls platforms (Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, CCW).
• Experience with electrical schematic design software (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SkyCAD).
• Strong understanding of control systems, motor controls, AC/DC drives, VFDs, sensors, data acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical requirements and specifications for robotic systems to deliver automation projects on time.
• Design and develop electrical systems for automated manufacturing equipment and robotic platforms.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and documentation.
• Integrate sensors, drives, robotics, and other automation technologies into processes.
• Lead testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical components and systems.
• Analyze performance and optimize PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, and automation systems.
