Job summary

East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer in Oakland to advance project planning, design and startup for complex water and wastewater electrical systems. You will work under the Senior Electrical Engineer, guiding substation projects, protection schemes, and control systems while coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Applicants should have a CA-PE or CA-EIT path, ABET-accredited degree, and four years of relevant experience, with strong communication

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited).
Four years of professional electrical engineering experience after degree.
California registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer and a valid CA driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Plan and design power system engineering projects.
Provide construction support, startup, and commissioning for electrical substations and power distribution.
Offer technical support and troubleshooting for power systems and control systems.
Plan, review and analyze electrical issues affecting wastewater projects and prepare technical reports.
Communicate findings clearly in oral presentations and written reports.
