Job summary

EBMUD seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer to advance the agency's power systems infrastructure for water and wastewater facilities in Oakland, CA. The role involves planning, designing, and supporting electrical projects from concept through commissioning, with emphasis on substation work, power distribution, and control systems.

The position requires a solid engineering background, at least four years of professional experience, and a California PE or EIT/license path.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or California EIT certificate.
• Four years of professional electrical engineering experience required (post-degree).
• California Professional Electrical Engineer license and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage complex electrical engineering projects for water/wastewater systems.
• Develop electrical design criteria, drawings, and specifications for power systems.
• Provide construction support, commissioning, and start-up for substations and power distribution.
• Review submittals, perform arc flash and coordination studies, and ensure NFPA 70E compliance.
• Communicate with stakeholders and prepare technical reports and memos.
