Job summary

WSP USA seeks an Electrical Engineer I to support due diligence, design, and construction of utility, industrial and commercial projects. You will assist engineers and project managers with data collection, analysis, and procurement package preparation for substations, power distribution, and renewable energy works, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
Familiarity with IEEE/NESC and NERC regulations.
Knowledge of design software (CADD, Aspen, CAPE, ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical).
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and in teams.
Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

Collect, compile, and analyze data for procurement packaging and design reviews.
Design single line and three line diagrams and substation layouts.
Assist with equipment sizing, cabling, and grounding design.
Support senior engineers with research and recommendations.
Develop electrical calculations for loads, voltage drop, and grounding.
Write technical reports and document calculations and sketches.
Collaborate with project controls, procurement, and permitting teams.
Assist with field work planning and permitting coordination.
