Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer (Generation) to join the Power & Energy team, focusing on transmission and distribution substations, power systems, and renewable energy solutions. The role involves cross‑functional collaboration with project managers and senior engineers across multiple offices in the United States, with emphasis on safety and code compliance.

You will perform complex electrical engineering work, develop calculations, and prepare plans and reports, while mentoring

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
5–7 years of post‑education experience on large capital projects.
Engineer in Training certification.
Experience with operations and project controls for reporting.
Proficient in electrical engineering principles and design/processes.
Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
Knowledge of electrical construction laws, codes, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to perform technical computations and QA/QC.

Responsibilities

Research, plan, and design transmission and distribution substations and power systems.
Lead with project managers to navigate challenges and future considerations.
Deliver high‑quality, safe, and functional design solutions meeting standards.
Prepare data and calculations for loads, grounding, short‑circuit studies, and protection.
Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, and phasing plans.
Create technical reports and presentations to explain findings.
