Idaho National Laboratory in Washington DC is hiring an Electrical Engineer to work on the Reactor Program Manager's team under the Nuclear Science & Technology directorate. This role focuses on power transmission and distribution analyses, designing and running high‑voltage experiments, and shaping resilient, secure energy infrastructure for decades to come.

The position follows a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off, offers broad collaboration with DoW stakeholders, mentoring of junior

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited EE degree with relevant experience (Level 3/4 requirements).
• Experience with ORCAD, MATLAB, LabVIEW, PowerWorld, RTDS.
• Experience designing electrical power experiments.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Analyze power transmission and distribution to inform design decisions.
• Develop secure, sustainable electrical power solutions.
• Design and execute electrical power experiments.
• Collaborate with DoW stakeholders on evaluation and compliance.
• Define functional requirements and test procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and support testing activities.
