Job summary

Exponent is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Scientist for the Electrical Engineering Practice in Warrenville, IL. You will join a multi-disciplinary team to tackle high-profile technical challenges across power systems, renewable energy, and consumer products.

You will design, test, and analyze systems, communicate findings clearly, and contribute to impactful solutions in a collaborative work environment with room to shape your consulting practice.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Applied Physics, or similar field.
• Hands-on experience with electronics hardware and/or software development.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience designing, constructing, and performing tests in a laboratory setting.
• Ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry.
• Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering consulting related to ongoing Exponent work across power systems, renewable energy, and related areas.
• Generate and perform testing protocols in lab and field settings.
• Explain why systems failed and how to improve safety of products or equipment.
• Communicate technical information to diverse audiences via reports and presentations.
