Job summary

Exponent is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice in Bellevue, WA. You will work as part of a team to help our clients solve challenging technical problems that are often urgent, high profile, and multidisciplinary.

You will perform analysis across electrical infrastructure and power systems, develop software tools, and contribute to field investigations and patent matters.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Experience with electric power systems or EMF applied to electrical infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience building software tools and data using Python.
• Experience with relational databases and data engineering concepts.
• Ability to communicate technical conclusions to engineering, business, and legal audiences.
• Preferred: SQL, MATLAB, AWS/Azure; Power BI; PSCAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis on electrical infrastructure and power systems.
• Develop software tools to automate analyses and improve workflows.
• Conduct laboratory and field investigations, data collection and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical proposals and present conclusions in reports and visualizations.
• Work independently and in multidisciplinary teams across a project lifecycle.
• Pursue business development opportunities and grow the practice.
