Job summary

Ward Leonard LLC seeks a technically skilled engineer to provide project leadership in AC/DC rotating equipment development. You will analyze designs using ANSYS RMxprt/MotorCAD, support testing, and contribute to product improvements based on field feedback.

Strong collaboration with sales and manufacturing teams is essential to meet customer requirements and cost objectives. The role requires experience with design data management tools and ERP systems, plus the ability to work independently

Qualifications

  • BSEE required with 3–7 years of rotating machinery experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities applicable to mechanical/electrical design.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional projects.
  • Experience with design review, qualification, testing, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing context.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analyses for rotating equipment.
  • Develop testing protocols and evaluate results to improve performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to support quotes and product modifications.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials and cost data in ERP/PLM tools.
  • Support shop floor activities and manufacturing process improvements; participate in Kaizen events.
