Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Radar Integrated Product Team (IPT) in Colorado Springs, supporting the design and development of a new ground-based radar for Space Domain Awareness. The role focuses on RF hardware architecture, integration of RF subsystems, and collaboration across design milestones and subcontractor management.

The position requires a Secret clearance, a STEM degree with 5+ years (or higher depending on level), and hands-on

Qualifications

  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience OR Master’s with 3 years OR PhD with 1 year.
  • Experience with LNA’s and RF signal chain analysis.
  • Ability to work in an RF lab environment and use RF test equipment (noise figure, phase noise).
  • Experience with component integration and checkout and reading/producing engineering drawings and BOMs.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) and MBSE principles.
  • Experience with Cameo.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively define and document Radar IPT hardware architecture
  • Develop component specifications and procurement requirements
  • Lead or support management of major subcontractors
  • Develop Statements of Work for subcontractors
  • Perform compliance analysis on key performance parameters
  • Work in an RF lab to characterize and measure equipment
  • Document BOMs and drawings with engineering drafting
  • Support development of integration plans and procedures
  • Assist assembly, integration and checkout of hardware
  • Support design trade studies and obsolescence reviews
  • Occasionally present to engineering leadership
