Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and implement electrical systems for heavy civil and utility projects in Houston, TX. You will apply electrical engineering principles to ensure safe operation of power distribution and control circuits.

The role involves preparing detailed schematics, performing load calculations, coordinating with civil and mechanical teams, and ensuring NEC compliance. Some travel to project sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school.
• 3–5 years of electrical engineering experience in heavy civil/industrial/utilities.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems for projects.
• Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specs.
• Perform load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit, and protection coordination calculations.
• Conduct site visits and supervise installation and commissioning.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate electrical designs.
• Develop testing procedures to ensure performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions during projects.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Prepare technical reports and cost estimates for electrical components.
• Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends.
