Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team, supporting local and nationwide clients on multi-disciplinary design and construction projects.

The role involves designing power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems for a variety of facilities, with travel as required. The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in consulting, and PE licensure or the goal to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical engineering consulting.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specs, submittals and construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution systems for airports, commercial, governmental, and industrial facilities.
• Develop lighting and lighting controls and integrate fire alarm, access control, CCTV and low voltage systems.
• Lead electrical distribution design for medium voltage, generators, EMS and UPS systems.
• Prepare electrical construction drawings, specifications and submittals.
• Review construction administration activities and provide field support.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure install fidelity and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD/Revit technicians and other engineers.
• Support multi-discipline design teams across projects.
• Assess energy codes and conduct design analysis for compliance.
• Travel as needed to meet project requirements, including out-of-state.
• Participate in value engineering and project coordination meetings.
• Prepare and review design calculations including voltage drop and fault analysis.
