Job summary

BSI Engineering LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on design and integration of power distribution systems across industrial facilities, with opportunities from greenfield design to upgrades.

The engineer will ensure code compliance and safety while delivering high-quality design packages. Responsibilities include low/medium voltage design, calculations, coordination studies, and construction support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience.
• Exposure to EasyPower and/or SKM software.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit software.
• Experience with load studies required.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
• Industrial power distribution experience required.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical engineering design scope for single and multi-discipline projects while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Ensure quality and technical accuracy of deliverables including calculations and design effort.
• Meet discipline’s engineering schedule and budget objectives.
• Design low voltage industrial power distribution systems (600V and below).
• Assist in MV power distribution design, including equipment selection and specifications.
• Assist in short circuit/arc flash/coordination and load studies.
• Design MCCs and layout MCC elevations.
• Design cable tray and conduit systems; specify low voltage equipment.
• Participate in construction support, startup and commissioning.
• Interface with clients regularly.
