Job summary

5V Tech in New York is seeking an hands-on hardware design engineer to own electronics from concept to production, turning product requirements into schematics, circuits and manufacturable boards, then guiding verification and test. You will work in a small, fast-moving team where your decisions shape the product.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on electronic circuit and PCB design experience.
• Proficiency with schematic/PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence or KiCad).
• Strong grounding in analog and digital fundamentals, power electronics and high-speed design.
• Comfortable debugging hardware at the bench with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Drive schematic capture and lead PCB layout, including component selection, footprints and BOM management.
• Run circuit simulation and analysis covering power, signal integrity, timing and thermal considerations.
• Design power supplies, sensor interfaces, communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet) and microcontroller subsystems.
• Bring up and debug prototypes in the lab using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical and test engineers throughout the development cycle.
• Prepare design documentation and review packages, and support DFM and cost reduction.
