Job summary

Our client seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for a full-time, permanent role in New York. You will manage product development, oversee electrical design, and draft hardware validation plans to ensure parts meet specifications.

Collaborating with manufacturing, supporting sales and support teams, and guiding first-run production. Proficiency with Altium Designer, PCB layout, and UL/EMC testing will help drive ongoing product improvements.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related experience is required.
• 5 years of experience working with power supplies, LED drivers, or related hardware.
• Experience utilizing Altium Designer and PCB layout.
• EMC testing methodologies and UL certification is preferred.
• Experience with UL certification (1598, 8750, or similar) is a plus.
• Familiarity with EMC testing methodologies (IEC 61000 series) is a plus.
• Embedded firmware experience (C, Python, or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Management of product development.
• Oversight of electrical design.
• Draft and implement hardware validation plans.
• Ensure new parts work in conjunction with design specifications.
• Ensure products are consistently improved upon.
• Assist sales and support teams as is required.
• Ensure first run production builds are up to standard.
• Work in collaboration with manufacturing team.
• Drafting of electrical procedures and testing methods.
• Support internal SMT/PCBA process as a technical expert.
