Job summary

Viking Masek Packaging Technologies in Oostburg, Wisconsin, seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design, controls development, system integration, and commissioning of automated packaging equipment.

You will develop PLC, HMI, and motion control programs, collaborate with peers across engineering and manufacturing, support installation, testing, startup, FAT/SAT, and customer service, with up to 15% travel.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
• 2+ years of PLC/HMI programming experience, preferably with Allen Bradley and Siemens systems.
• Proficiency with programming languages used in PLCs, such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram, to develop and troubleshoot control systems.
• Proficiency in understanding electrical circuits, wiring, and components such as sensors, actuators, and relays, which are integral to control systems.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and basic electronic measuring devices.
• Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to apply engineering principles to solve problems in control systems, hardware, or software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams. Ability to work effectively in team environments and contribute to ongoing projects.
• Ability to Travel up to 15%

Responsibilities

• Design & Develop: Determine electrical and controls requirements based on project specifications and customer needs. Develop and manage PLC, HMI, and motion control programs while selecting electrical and controls components and coordinating vendor quotes and parts releases.
