Job summary

Benchmark Automation LLC is seeking an Electrical/Controls Engineer to design electrical controls for packaging machinery and material handling equipment, including BOMs, PLC and HMI programming, startup support, debugging, and occasional robot programming.

You will develop designs using NEC/NFPA/IEC and UL standards, create schematics, panel layouts, field wiring pull schedules, and collaborate with customers to meet specifications while traveling up to 25%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from a four-year college.
Minimum 3 years' experience designing and implementing control solutions, programming PLCs, and implementing HMIs in an OEM environment.
Demonstrated experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000) and FactoryTalk View ME.
Design experience of industrial electrical controls systems.
Experience with high-speed machinery including servo drives, robotics, and indexing mechanisms.
Electrical/mechanical integration experience; EPLAN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Design electrical controls for packaging machinery and material handling equipment.
Create Bills of Materials, panel layouts, termination diagrams, and field wiring pull schedules.
Program PLCs and HMIs, troubleshoot during startups, and assist with robot programming as needed.
Perform risk assessments and client communications to clarify specifications or installation issues.
Support startups on-site or at client facilities and provide operator training.
