Job summary

Niuro seeks a senior electrical designer to own the electrical architecture for robotic arms and humanoid systems. You will take subsystems from power budgeting and schematic capture through layout and bench bring-up, delivering robust, manufacturable hardware.

You will collaborate with mechanical, controls, and firmware teams to ensure reliable operation under high-load conditions, and drive manufacturing-scale production with DFMA practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience shipping hardware
• Deep expertise in custom PCB design, including schematic capture, multilayer layout, BOM management in major EDA tools
• Proven track record taking complex PCB designs from concept through production
• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer, Power Electronics, Hardware Bring-up, Mixed-Signal Design, Signal Integrity, DFM

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end electrical design for robotic arms and humanoids, including power distribution boards, motor-driver units, sensor PCBs, and interconnect harnessing.
• Design and lay out custom multilayer, mixed-signal, and high-current PCBs with a rigorous focus on power and signal integrity.
• Design power distribution networks, DC-DC conversion stages, fusing, and protection circuits capable of powering high-power actuators and sensitive compute rails.
• Integrate motor drivers, gate drivers, and current sensing for brushless actuators in close coordination with controls and firmware engineers.
• Conduct bench bring-up, hardware debugging, thermal analysis, and root-cause failure analysis using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and bench supplies.
• Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA), working directly with PCBA fabrication partners to scale hardware into production.

This role owns the electrical architecture and hardware backbone for advanced robotic arms and humanoid systems. Working directly on production-grade robotics deployed in demanding industrial settings, you will take electrical subsystems from initial power budgeting and schematic capture through layout, bench bring-up, and manufacturing. You will lead the end-to-end design of custom multilayer PCBs, power distribution networks, actuator drivers, and sensor interfaces. Partnering closely with mechanical, controls, and firmware engineers, you will deliver robust power and clean signals that ensure hardware reliability under high-load physical operation.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with 5+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience designing and shipping hardware (or 3+ years with an advanced degree).
• Deep expertise in custom PCB design, including schematic capture, multilayer layout, component selection, and BOM management in major EDA tools.
• Proven track record of taking complex PCB designs from concept and bench bring-up through validated, manufacturable hardware that shipped.
• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer, Power Electronics, Hardware Bring-up, Mixed-Signal Design, Signal Integrity, DFM.
