Job summary

Eight Sleep in San Francisco is seeking electrical engineers to bring new products to market. You’ll design consumer electronic devices, prototype concepts, and support designs from schematic capture to production testing, with substantial ownership and a path to leadership.

The role requires hands-on PCB design experience, close collaboration across teams, and travel to Asia as needed for mass production. This high-performance team emphasizes fast delivery and rigorous quality standards.

Qualifications

• Mixed analog and digital design and layout.
• Familiarity with ECAD packages (Altium, OrCAD, etc.).
• Knowledge of SMT and flex PCB manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of DOE, root cause, statistical analysis and other quality measuring techniques.
• Willingness and ability to travel to Asia as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design consumer electronic devices incorporating microcontrollers, SoCs, wireless transceivers, motor drivers, sensors, audio and LED drivers.
• Prototype new concepts to assess feasibility.
• Support designs including schematic capture, layout, bring-up and characterization, production test coverage, and reliability testing.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering, embedded software, industrial design, manufacturing, and product team members.
• Define testing requirements, fixtures, and equipment to qualify the functionality of components and assemblies for mass production.
