Job summary

Mission Critical Group in Belle Chasse, LA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead complete electrical design packages for low- and medium-voltage equipment, adhering to IEEE, ANSI, NEMA and UL standards while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing and client teams.

The role is onsite at our Belle Chasse facility with mentorship of junior staff, involvement in new product development, and close coordination with estimators on project quotes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical engineering design with switchgear in marine, heavy industrial, or oil & gas sectors.
• 1+ years in electro-mechanical power system design including low/medium voltage distribution, MCCs, controls integration, and arc flash.
• Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and UL standards.
• Experience with marine/oil & gas or energy sector projects preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and PromisE; ability to read one-line diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complete electrical design packages (schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, BOMs).
• Ensure designs comply with IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, UL and client specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and field service teams to resolve design challenges.
• Lead client-facing communication on technical issues and ensure timely delivery.
• Provide design input to estimators for project quotes and feasibility.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships for materials research and new technologies.
• Mentor junior designers and engineers; support design standards improvement.
• Contribute to new product development and improvement projects.
