Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company, is recruiting an Electrical Engineer for its Houston, TX or Dallas, TX office. You design complex power and building electrical systems, including generator plants, medium voltage, and critical distribution, for data centers and mission-critical environments.

You will lead electrical design on large-scale projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver robust, reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with electrical emphasis.
• 3+ years designing electrical systems for high-performing, commercial, industrial or mission-critical buildings.
• Strong communication, teamwork and written/verbal skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, eTap or Cyme.
• Knowledge of building, electrical and energy codes.
• Willing to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including lighting, general, essential and critical infrastructure.
• Lead electrical design of complex projects within multi-discipline teams.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for issuance to architects and contractors.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Mentor entry-level and junior engineers.
• Coordinate with vendors, internal teams and owners.
• Communicate complex electrical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Develop equipment room layouts, floor plans and one-lines.
• Schedule equipment and perform short circuit, coordination and arc flash analyses.
• Support construction administration and site surveys.
