Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the Houston or Dallas office. You will design complex power and building systems including generator plants, medium voltage distribution, uninterruptible power systems, lighting, and grounding, supporting mission critical data center projects.

You will lead electrical design efforts, collaborate with multi-discipline teams, attend client meetings, mentor junior engineers, and ensure design documents meet codes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as specified above.
• 3+ years in designing electrical systems for high-performing, commercial, industrial or mission-critical/data center buildings.
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, eTap or Cyme.
• Knowledge of building, electrical and energy codes.
• Ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including lighting, receptacle, general, essential, and critical infrastructure.
• Lead the electrical design of complex projects.
• Develop drawings and specifications for architects, contractors and owners.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Lead and mentor entry-level and junior engineers.
• Collaborate with internal project teams, equipment vendors, and manufacturers.
• Prepare short circuit, coordination and arc flash calculations.
• Survey and evaluate existing conditions.
