Kiewit Power Engineering in Lenexa, KS, is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. You will assist with design work, electrical calculations, drawings, and equipment specs while supporting project teams across power facilities.

The internship offers exposure to multiple engineering disciplines, collaboration with experienced professionals, and opportunities to gain practical, hands-on experience in EPC projects within the power sector.

Formación

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Above 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.
• Demonstrate interest in power systems engineering.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Be a team player.
• Prefer individuals who are junior or senior in ABET-accredited programs.

Responsabilidades

• Check wiring drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, and data sheets.
• Research requirements from standards, contracts, and proposals.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations and drawings per standards.
• Provide draft equipment specifications for major electrical equipment.
• Perform bid evaluations and coordinate equipment contracts with vendors.
• Maintain engineering records and lists as required.
• Develop and manage cable and termination information using design software.
• Coordinate work with engineers, designers, PMs, construction personnel and vendors.
• Learn departmental design standards and applicable codes and policies.
