Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support design engineering and construction activities. You will perform innovative design work, run basic electrical calculations, develop plans, and help mitigate risk to keep our teams safe while learning our standards and tools.

Ideal candidates pursue a bachelor’s or master’s in electrical engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, show strong organizational and communication skills, and demonstrate a collaborative

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, in good standing
• Preferred GPA above 3.0
• Interest in power systems engineering
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; willingness to learn department design software
• Must be a US citizen with documentation for badge access
• Pass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position duties

Responsibilities

• Review wiring diagrams, schematics, data sheets, and related drawings
• Analyze requirements from engineering standards, contracts, and proposals
• Prepare basic calculations and drawings per Kiewit standards
• Draft equipment specifications for major electrical components
• Evaluate bids
• Coordinate equipment contracts with vendors
• Maintain engineering records and lists
• Manage cable and raceway data using scheduling software
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, construction teams, and vendors
• Learn design standards, engineering codes, and policies
