Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions seeks a Field Engineer Intern to assist as the construction site engineering resource during project execution. You will interpret and adjust designs to meet site conditions, manage technical issues, and support construction supervision to ensure conformance to specs.

You will apply field changes with Construction Managers, perform quality inspections, monitor submittals, and help ensure safety and compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication with management and field staff.
• Ability to verify field construction work to ensure compliance with drawings and codes.
• Knowledge of construction safety and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving in field settings.
• US citizenship required for site badge access.
• Willingness to travel/relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support in all phases of estimating, construction formation, project execution, testing/inspection, and project closeout.
• Maintains records of installed quantities and completed construction work.
• Participates in obtaining permits/clearances, lockouts, Escort Agreements, and work authorizations prior to site work.
• Performs verification of work in progress to ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
• Assists in the preparation of procedures, administrative and technical documents.
• May prepare/approve purchase requisitions for materials and services.
• Review Lessons Learned and collaborate with corporate personnel and other partner projects.
