Job summary

Amrize is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Midlothian, TX site. You’ll support electrical system design, installation, and maintenance within a cement plant environment, gaining hands-on experience with motors, control systems, PLCs, and SCADA.

The 10-week, paid internship runs June 1 to August 10, with a 40-hour week onsite. You’ll collaborate with engineers, participate in preventive maintenance, and present learnings to leadership at the end of the program.

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Electrical System Support: Assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment within the cement plant.
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Support the troubleshooting and repair of electrical issues, including motors, control systems, and other electrical components.
• Preventive Maintenance: Participate in the development and execution of preventive maintenance plans for electrical systems to ensure reliable plant operations.
• Automation and Control: Work with automation systems and control panels, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, to monitor and control plant processes.
• Safety Protocols: Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Skill Application: Utilize a range of skills and knowledge in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals.
• Executive Presentation: At the end of your internship, you'll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.
