Job summary

Williams is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Staff/Senior) in Houston to design and optimize electrical systems for pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. You will lead technical solutions, integrate automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage while ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college, with 8–15 years of experience in natural gas, data centers, or related industry,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited college required.
• Master’s degree and PE license preferred.
• Professional Engineer licensure encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks.
• Integrate automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Implement safety-focused solutions including arc flash mitigation and fault detection.
• Provide electrical design expertise for new construction and upgrades.
• Manage projects from concept to execution within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NEMA, IEEE, API, and other standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Travel up to 50% for field work and site coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting critical infrastructure

• Drive the integration of advanced technologies (automation, real-time monitoring, energy storage) to improve system efficiency and reliability

• Implement safety-focused solutions including arc flash mitigation, fault detection, and risk-reduction strategies

• Provide technical expertise in electrical design, system layouts, and schematics for both new construction and system upgrades

• Manage engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and business objectives

• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, environmental, and regulatory standards (NEC, NEMA, IEEE, API, etc.)

• Collaborate with operations, project management, and external partners to deliver high-quality engineering solutions

• Mentor and support development of junior engineers (Senior/Staff levels) and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Education and Experience:

Staff:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university and (15) fifteen years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers or related industry

• Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited college or university

• Preferred: PE License

Senior:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university and eight (8) years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers or related industry

• Preferred: Master’s degree in electrical engineering

• Preferred: PE License

III:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university from an ABET accredited college or university and four (4) years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or related industry.

• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Technical & Professional Requirements

• Strong commitment to safety, with demonstrated application in engineering design and execution

• Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NEMA, IEEE, API, etc.)

• Experience reviewing and improving arc flash studies

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general engineering tools

• Preferred experience with:

• Willingness to travel up to 50%
