Job summary

Williams is seeking engineers to support power generation, energy storage, and utility infrastructure projects in a hybrid office environment in Houston. The role spans concept through execution, with emphasis on capital cost estimates, schedules, and safety, reliability, and lifecycle performance.

The team collaborates with commercial, operations, and external partners to deliver innovative energy solutions for data centers and infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Preferred FE certification.
  • Exposure to power generation, energy storage, utility infrastructure, or industrial capital projects.
  • Familiarity with project economics, planning, and conceptual engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering assignments requiring technical analysis, problem solving, and sound judgment.
  • Support project development activities with moderate supervision.
  • Develop knowledge of energy systems, project development, and industry standards.
  • Independently execute moderately complex engineering and project development assignments.
  • Lead portions of development projects and manage multiple priorities.
  • Provide technical and economic analyses that support business decisions.

Job description

What You’ll Do
  • Power Innovation & Project Development Support development of power generation, energy storage, utility infrastructure, and emerging energy projects from concept through execution.
  • Develop conceptual designs, basis-of-design documents, project schedules, execution strategies, and capital cost estimates.
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations to support project screening, technology selection, and investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with commercial, business development, operations, environmental, regulatory, and construction teams.
  • Partner with engineering consultants, EPC contractors, equipment manufacturers, utilities, and customers.
  • Support development of innovative energy solutions for industrial, data center, and infrastructure applications.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, permitting, environmental, regulatory, constructability, and schedule risks.
  • Ensure projects are developed with consideration for safety, reliability, operability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance.
Engineer II
  • Perform engineering assignments requiring technical analysis, problem solving, and sound judgment.

Engineer III

What You’ll Bring
Engineer II
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or Engineering Technology degree with PE license).
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Preferred FE certification.
  • Exposure to power generation, energy storage, utility infrastructure, or industrial capital projects.
  • Familiarity with project economics, project planning, and conceptual engineering.
Engineer III
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or Engineering Technology degree with PE license).
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently.
  • Preferred FE certification.
  • Experience with power generation, energy storage, utility infrastructure, or large capital projects.
  • Experience developing conceptual engineering packages, capital cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Familiarity with project economics and business case development.
Senior Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or Engineering Technology degree with PE license).
  • 8+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership on complex engineering or capital projects.
  • Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience leading power generation, energy infrastructure, energy storage, or large industrial projects from concept through execution.
  • Experience with project economics, capital planning, and investment decision support.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders.
