Job summary

Williams is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, evaluate, and maintain critical electrical systems for our data center projects. You will lead maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate across teams to support upgrades and capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA70E codes and standards.
  • Experience with power systems: distribution, UPS, generators.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, and maintain electrical systems (power distribution, backup power, control systems).
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance for critical infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on capital projects and upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation: schematics, specs, procedures.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, evaluate, and maintain electrical systems including power distribution, backup power, and control systems.
  • Lead and support preventative and corrective maintenance efforts for critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support capital projects, system upgrades, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal policies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation – schematics, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
  • Provide engineering support for root‑cause analysis, system optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovations that enhance performance and efficiency.
What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA70E).
  • Experience with power systems, including low‑ and medium‑voltage distribution, UPS systems, and generators.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools and software (AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on safety and reliability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering within the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
  • PE certification.
  • Experience with power systems, including low‑ and medium‑voltage distribution, UPS systems, and generators.
