Job summary

Williams is seeking an Electrical Engineer III/Senior to lead the design and optimization of electrical systems powering critical infrastructure, including pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. The role emphasizes integrating automation, real‑time monitoring, and energy storage to drive efficiency, innovation, and safety.

Responsibilities include project management from concept to completion, ensuring NEC/IEEE compliance, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET‑accredited institution; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Eight years for Senior and four years for III experience in natural gas, data centers or related industries; PE license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of power system design, analysis, and simulation tools (ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink).
  • Experience with high‑voltage equipment, transformers, generators, switchgear, grid integration, and renewable energy systems.
  • Experience procuring electrical equipment and managing vendor contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize electrical systems and power distribution networks for critical infrastructure.
  • Integrate automation, real‑time monitoring, and energy storage technologies to enhance system performance and reduce costs.
  • Implement arc flash mitigation and fault detection to protect personnel and ensure reliability.
  • Provide expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for new construction and upgrades.
  • Manage complex engineering projects from concept to completion, aligning solutions with business goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards for electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, fostering technical growth and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of power system design, analysis, and simulation tools (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink).
  • Experience with high‑voltage equipment, transformers, generators, switchgear, grid integration, and renewable energy systems.
  • Managing procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials, with established vendor contacts.
Job Requirements
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with safety as a top priority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC applications.
  • Experience reviewing arc flash studies and implementing improvements.
  • Knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc.).
  • Preferred experience with PLCs, project management, Pre‑FEED/FEED, EPC, and instrumentation systems including HMI.

Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
