Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to join a leading, employee-owned electrical contractor delivering high-profile projects across the U.S. The role focuses on power distribution design, one-line diagrams, and rigorous system studies.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, a degree in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on experience with NEC requirements. You will work with project managers and field teams, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Active PE license is REQUIRED.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong background in power distribution and system studies.
• Experience with NEC and construction electrical design.
• Proficient in ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Able to translate calculations into buildable designs.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical distribution designs, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies.
• Using ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower software.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Support equipment selection, design-build coordination, and commissioning.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who understands both power distribution design and the realities of construction.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Developing electrical distribution designs, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Performing load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies.
• Using electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Working closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Supporting equipment selection, design-build coordination, and commissioning.
• Mentoring junior engineers and reviewing technical deliverables.

What We're Looking For:

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license – REQUIRED.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong background in electrical power distribution and system studies.
• Experience with NEC requirements and electrical design for construction.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Ability to translate engineering calculations into practical, constructible solutions.
