Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat, Groton, CT, seeks electrical engineers to provide technical oversight of SWS COLUMBIA Waterfront construction activities and GFE. You will serve as the primary engineering interface for the Groton shipyard, coordinating with SP branches, Design and Engineering, NAVSEA, and SUPSHIP.

Responsibilities include evaluating issues, interpreting designs, guiding CNs/CPRs, and supporting final assembly, testing, and delivery of COLUMBIA Class SWS while leading

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0-5 years of post graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and keep a DoD Secret security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight and guidance to trade personnel on SWS GFE construction and test activities.
• Evaluate emergent shipyard issues during construction or test and develop technically acceptable resolutions.
• Interpret SWS GFE design, drawings, installations and specifications.
• Direct and evaluate Groton trades via CNs, TIR UNSATs, and CPRs to ensure workmanship.
• Support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery activities for COLUMBIA Class SWS.
• Advise on applying Coordination Drawings to resolve COLUMBIA Class construction issues.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations.
• Coordinate involvement of design and engineering SMEs in SWS GFE construction sequence.
