Job summary

Metra in Chicago seeks an Electrical Engineer II to prepare electrical design packages for power and lighting systems and ensure facility compliance. You will supervise contractors and provide project cost estimates and schedules for capital and maintenance projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in electrical design, and 3 years indirect supervisory experience. A valid driver's license is required; flexibility for early mornings, evenings, or weekends

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum five years in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power, lighting, and control design.
Three years indirect supervisory experience (managing tasks, guidance, training, performance).
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a vehicle.
Able to work flexible hours (early morning, evenings, weekends) and support Grant Development funding processes.

Responsibilities

Prepare electrical design packages (drawings, specs, calculations) for power and lighting.
Supervise and coordinate construction contractors and assist design projects by outside consultants.
Provide capital and maintenance cost estimates and economic analyses for designs.
Develop project and construction schedules.
Prepare scope of work and funding requirements for proposed capital projects.
