Job summary

SubCom seeks an Electrical Engineer for the Newington plant to own power distribution, PLC/HMI systems, and data acquisition across production lines. You will design, troubleshoot, and upgrade control systems to improve uptime and quality. Knowledge of NEC/OSHA codes and AutoCAD drafting is required.

The role emphasizes safety, lean practices, and collaboration with process engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and IT teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• 2–4 years plant electrical engineering experience in a factory environment.
• Knowledge of drive systems and industrial controls.
• Experience with Data Acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with NEC and OSHA electrical codes.
• Drafting experience with AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program and troubleshoot AC/DC drive systems, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Update PLC programs on plant Network drive for backup availability.
• Perform electrical design, modifications, instrumentation and control upgrades.
• Maintain Arc Flash analysis, labeling, and coordination for plant power distribution and lines.
• Set up and maintain Data Acquisition and logging (Citeck and Wonderware).
• Maintain Lockout/Tagout SPIMS per OSHA electrical safety program.
• Diagnose electrical failures and implement upgrades to improve uptime and reliability.
• Prepare wiring/schematic drawings in AutoCAD and update plant documentation.
• Adhere to GMP, NEC, OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and UL safety standards.
