The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of two years of electric utility experience; responsibilities include updating models, representing the company in ERCOT/NERC groups, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of two years of electric utility or power engineering experience that includes performing engineering calculations and/or design

Responsibilities

• Perform power flow studies to determine system improvements needed to maintain transmission system reliability.
• Perform short circuit studies to determine system improvements needed to maintain transmission system reliability.
• Perform stability studies to determine system improvements needed to maintain transmission system reliability.
• Update power flow models to reflect changes in topology, resources and load.
• Represent CenterPoint Energy on applicable ERCOT and NERC working groups, user groups and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance to applicable NERC standards, produce compliance reports and participate in audit activities.
• Work cooperatively and jointly with other departments within the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
