Job summary

Meade is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our design team in Detroit. You will design electrical systems for data centers, offices, and industrial projects, perform calculations, and collaborate with MEI staff, clients, and vendors. Travel to job sites may be required for observations and meetings.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of design experience, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and a P.E.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical engineering design experience in construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Electrical P.E. license or Engineer-in-Training certification.
• Experience designing power systems for data centers or large commercial projects.
• Experience working independently, prioritizing tasks, mentoring juniors.
• Familiarity with International Building Codes and NFPA standards.
• Knowledge of large-scale standby and emergency power systems.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems and perform design calculations.
• Review, signing and sealing projects.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, records drawings, site visits, inspections, commissioning.
• Write and edit electrical equipment specifications; select equipment and devices.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
