Job summary

SAF-HOLLAND is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to join the Vehicle Controls team. You will support design, validation, and launch of electronic brake and control systems for commercial vehicles, under guidance from senior engineers.

This developmental role covers ABS/EBS, vehicle communications, diagnostics, and test plans in lab and vehicle environments, with opportunities to grow into a subject-matter expert while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechatronics/Computer/Automotive engineering or related field.
0-3 years of engineering experience, including internships or senior design projects.
Preferred exposure to automotive, commercial vehicle, controls, or embedded systems with experience in electrical testing and troubleshooting.
Technical skills include circuit analysis and electrical design, CANbus and SAE J1939 communications, embedded systems fundamentals, MATLAB, LabVIEW, CANalyzer, CANoe.
Develop and execute laboratory and vehicle test plans; analyze test data from brake and control systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support design, development, validation, and launch of electronic brake and vehicle control systems for commercial vehicles.
Develop expertise in ABS, EBS, vehicle communications, diagnostics, and emerging control technologies.
Work with senior engineers to gain experience in foundation brake systems and vehicle electrical architecture.
Contribute to regulatory compliance, data collection, and customer support during testing and validation.
