Job summary

The City of Lubbock seeks a professional Electrical Engineer to lead design and project management for transmission, distribution, and substation projects. You will engage with customers, conduct field investigations, and coordinate with construction and operations teams to ensure reliable delivery of electrical services.

Responsibilities include performing complex analyses, preparing specifications, and supervising engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or closely related field with equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Design, review, approve, and manage projects for street lighting, distribution and substations.
Perform electrical system analyses including NESC, short circuit, load flow, and protection coordination.
Prepare estimates, write specifications, and represent LP&L in meetings with customers and boards.
Supervise engineering staff and coordinate with construction and operations teams.
Apply new materials and technologies to improve efficiency, safety and reliability of the distribution system.
Provide training and support for GIS, SCADA, and related software.
Monitor environmental compliance and respond to emergency restoration.
Develop and administer contracts for materials and services.
Perform related duties as required.
