Job summary

LCRA seeks an upbeat Engineer to join its Substation Engineering Electrical design group in Texas. You will lead substation physical development, ensuring accurate execution and compliance with industry standards across the project lifecycle from planning to operations and maintenance.

You will perform grounding, shielding, and other critical calculations while coordinating with teams to deliver safe, reliable substations and mentor less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
• Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design for high voltage substation projects for both new and existing installations by applying standard methodologies, department procedures, and engineering standards.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, RUS, and other relevant industry standards.
• Perform various calculations and analysis needed for substation safety & reliability (e.g. Grounding, Lightning, Voltage Drop, Ampacity, Conduit Fill, etc.)
• Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and collaborators to successfully implement design solutions and mentor and guide junior engineers, encouraging a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Prepare detailed documentation and reports to support project planning and execution.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
