Job summary

Invenergy LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer I in Chicago to manage operations of wind, solar, and storage assets. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical issues, interfacing with site personnel, and supporting compliance with NERC regulations.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and has knowledge of power systems and renewable energy. A competitive salary of $70,000-$95,000 plus a 15% bonus package is offered. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401k.

Qualifications

• Must be available for after office hours troubleshooting.
• Some travel and field work is required (<25%).

Responsibilities

• Support operating facilities with electrical troubleshooting.
• Primary interface for electrical issues at wind, solar, and battery storage facilities.
• Manage substation and balance of plant electrical maintenance program.
• Support NERC compliance with audits and documentation.
• Conduct reviews of system studies for reliability.

Skills

Knowledge of three-phase power systems

High voltage electrical equipment & relay protection

Experience with HV/MV electrical systems

Strong working knowledge of NESC and ANSI/IEEE standards

Practical experience in electrical substation reliability

Knowledge of renewable generation systems

Computer proficiency in spreadsheet modeling

Verbal and written communication skills

Education

BS in Electrical Engineering or similar major
