Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc seeks an entry‑level Electrical Engineer/ Draftsperson to perform routine design of less complex engineering tasks under direct supervision. You will work with the design team to develop installation details, electrical room layouts, and supporting drawings in compliance with department CAD standards. Ideal candidates hold a B.S.

or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, may have up to 1 year of experience, and preferably EIT registration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of the current NEC edition.
• Familiarity with company CAD drafting standards.
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
• Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill.
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or MicroStation).
• Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Developing virtual team skills and cross-divisional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine design of less complex electrical engineering tasks under direct supervision.
• Produce installation details, motor control centre layouts, and electrical room drawings.
• Create wiring diagrams, cable schedules, grounding plans and lighting/power layouts.
• Develop conceptual layouts and preliminary design estimates.
• Support drafting group in resolving layout and detailing issues.
• Coordinate with design leaders from other disciplines to ensure project flow.
