The Lansing Board of Water & Light has openings for an Engineer III - V within our Electric Systems Integrity Department located in Lansing, MI.
Job Type: Full-Time
Starting Salary Range: EE-III $91,746 - $111,930; EE-IV $101,876; EE-V $113,246 - $140,425.
Responsible for engineering activities related to planning, designing, constructing, operating, maintaining, and ensuring regulatory compliance of the electric transmission and distribution systems. Projects involve investigations, studies, estimates, economic evaluations, budgeting, scheduling, system protection, designing, drawing development and review, construction and commissioning support, training, and project management.
This position will focus primarily on transmission planning and modeling of BWL’s 138kV transmission system and NERC compliance tasks, including load flow studies and contingency analysis to identify system improvements and evaluate interconnection applications. The role includes becoming a co-SME on several NERC standards and maintaining compliance for audits.
Engineer III: Salary $91,746 - $111,930, with 4+ years experience.
Engineer IV: Salary $101,876 - $125,358, with 7+ years experience, including mastery of duties, independent project evaluation, and leadership abilities.
Engineer V: Salary $113,246 - $140,425, with extensive expertise, project management, and strategic skills.
Must be able to remain stationary for long periods, occasionally move around, operate office equipment, and work in outdoor or industrial environments. May need to lift up to 30 pounds and operate field instruments. Must pass background, substance screening, and physical exams if applicable.
