Cherokee Federal is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Mid) to manage electrical infrastructure planning and energy resilience for installations at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI. The role requires CAC eligibility and a favorable DoD background investigation, with no supervisory responsibilities.

The position focuses on power distribution, generation, lighting, and lifecycle planning, coordinating with civil and mechanical disciplines to align with the Installation Energy Plan and AMP

Qualifications

• CAC is required and the ability to pass DoD background checks.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution in the U.S.
• Minimum five years of electrical-engineering experience; minimum three years in military facility/infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical-distribution and power-generation components of the Utilities AMP.
• Assess electrical-system conditions within facilities using BUILDER SMS and data.
• Develop electrical infrastructure lifecycle-maintenance, replacement, recapitalization, and resilience strategies.
• Integrate Installation Energy Plan objectives into AMP priorities.
• Develop prioritized backup-power and energy-resilience project lists.
• Coordinate electrical planning with civil and mechanical disciplines.
• Prepare utility-conflict matrices and coordinated, multi-discipline project lists.
• Conduct physical inventories and support updates to Sustainment Management Systems.
• Coordinate with CES flights and stakeholders supporting utility infrastructure projects.

Summary

This position is onsite at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii (Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam), requires a CAC, and a favorable Tier 1/NACI-SF85 background investigation.

Manages electrical infrastructure planning and electrical Sub-AMPs supporting installation power distribution, generation, lighting, energy resilience, and utility lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical-distribution and power-generation components of the Utilities AMP.
• Assess electrical-system conditions within facilities using BUILDER SMS and other available data.

Basic Qualifications

• This position requires a Common Access Card (CAC), the ability to pass the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) clearance to acquire a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with Air Force utility systems, electrical distribution, backup power, and installation energy resilience.
• Experience with BUILDER SMS, Utilities SMS, AMP development, and facility lifecycle planning.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution within the 50 United States.
• Minimum five years of electrical-engineering experience.
• Minimum three years of military facility or infrastructure experience.
