Job summary

Harmar Mobility designs mobility device lifts to help people stay independent. The electronics team develops and tests hardware for medical devices, ensuring reliability, safety, and cost efficiency through prototypes, documentation and production release.

Responsibilities include performance evaluation, cost analysis, and collaboration with customers and suppliers to deliver robust solutions while maintaining regulatory compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• History of independent and team work under time and resource constraints.
• Strong planning/organizational skills with ability to manage projects and multi-task.
• Evidence of strong technical problem solving and solving workflow issues.
• Effective interpersonal communications to express ideas precisely and persuasively.
• Ability to specify, evaluate and select electrical/electronic components.
• Experience working with design teams, customers, suppliers outside the company.
• Familiar with firmware/hardware interactions and compliance issues.

Responsibilities

• Circuit board and circuit board programming responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain electronics for medical devices including documentation and testing.
• Evaluate and optimize product concepts for function, manufacturability and packaging.
• Generate prototypes, test, verify, and release to production.
• Develop cost analyses for new concepts from design through production launch.
• Lead special projects evaluating new processes and technologies.
• Provide technical support for electronic product quality issues.
• Improve electronics development process for quality and time-to-market.
• Ensure electrical safety compliance (FDA, CE, UL, NEC, FCC).
• Select key components and standardize where possible.
• Maintain engineering docs (BOMs, procedures) in DCD.
• Design areas include boards, embedded systems, motors, and analog/digital circuits.
• Decide which electronics activities are internal vs subcontracted.
• Manage internal testing resources and validate test results.
• Design experiments to evaluate electrical systems and components.
