Job summary

Harmar Mobility in the United States, NY, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our engineering team. You will work with experienced engineers to sustain existing products and drive new product innovation for wheelchair lifts and access solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of industrial environment experience.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with mechanical/electro-mechanical design.
• SolidWorks CAD experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFMEA, GD&T, FEA, and root-cause investigations.
• Strong planning and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical lift systems from concept to production.
• Evaluate concepts for function, manufacturability, packaging, and material handling.
• Review engineering drawings with critical dimensions and GD&T.
• Create prototypes, perform tests, and ensure products meet specifications.
• Develop cost analyses from design through launch to maximize value.
• Support cross-functional teams and ensure design for safety compliance.
• Maintain engineering documentation and test plans, and coordinate with testing resources.
