Job summary

Pacer Group in Houston, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineer / Drafter to design and deliver electrical systems for modular and hyperscale data center projects. This onsite contract role will prepare drawings, BOMs, MTOs, and layouts in line with customer requirements and QA/QC standards.

The candidate will work with engineers to ensure documentation meets industry codes and client specifications, while coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Technical certification in Electrical Design or related discipline.
• 5+ years of electrical design/drafting experience, preferably on modular or hyperscale data centers.
• Experience with EPC modular drafting and design.
• Experience producing electrical drawings, layouts, and design documentation.
• Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems in industrial facilities and data centers.
• Knowledge of IEC, IBC, OSHA, NEC, NFPA.
• Experience with CAD and BIM software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check electrical drawings and BOMs according to customer requirements.
• Prepare MTOs and detailed BOMs independently.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering, QA/QC, industry, and customer standards.
• Prepare equipment and electrical layout drawings for customer review.
• Panel drawings and panel layouts; earthing details; electrical termination hook-ups.
• Support troubleshooting by analyzing problems through drawings.
• Prepare sequence drawings and procedures for FAT.
• Prepare installation procedures for customer submission.
• Coordinate and supervise outsourced engineering/design work.
• Review vendor drawings and data for compliance with specs and standards.
• Extract model and project data to support project, client, and third-party needs.
• Provide lessons-learned feedback to improve tools, processes, and procedures.
• Support Engineers and Engineering Management with design and drafting activities.

We are seeking a Electrical Engineer / Drafter to support the engineering team in the design and delivery of electrical systems for modular and hyperscale data center projects.

The Electrical Designer will independently prepare and review electrical drawings, equipment BOMs, MTOs, layouts, schematics, and other engineering deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, engineering standards, and QA/QC requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and check electrical drawings and BOMs according to customer requirements.
• Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) independently.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering, QA/QC, industry, and customer standards.
• Prepare equipment and electrical layout drawings for customer review.
• Panel drawings and panel layouts
• Earthing details
• Electrical termination hook-ups
• Support troubleshooting by simulating and analyzing problems through drawings.
• Prepare sequence drawings and procedures for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Prepare installation procedures for customer submission.
• Coordinate and supervise outsourced engineering/design work.
• Review vendor drawings and technical data for compliance with client specifications and applicable standards.
• Extract model and project data to support project, client, and third‑party engineering requirements.
• Provide lessons‑learned feedback and help improve engineering tools, processes, and procedures.
• Support Engineers and Engineering Management with design and drafting activities.

Required Qualifications

• Technical certification in Electrical Design or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of electrical design/drafting experience, preferably supporting modular or hyperscale data center projects.
• Experience with EPC modular drafting and design.
• Experience producing electrical drawings, layouts, and design documentation.
• Experience with high‑density data centers and hyperscale environments is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems used in industrial facilities and data centers.
• Knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes, including:
