Job summary

Astec in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an electrical design engineer to design electrical control systems for asphalt heating equipment and related systems. You will specify components, read diagrams, and create BOMs and PID schematics using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 2+ years of experience, travel ~25% domestically and internationally, and ability to obtain a US passport and TWIC.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel ~25% domestically and internationally; must have or be able to obtain a U.S. passport and a TWIC.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for asphalt heating equipment and related systems.
• Specify components and create electrical BOMs and PID schematics using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams and drawings; design schematics and panel layouts.
