Job summary

DS2 is seeking a mid-level electrical engineer in the United States to design power distribution networks for aerospace/defense systems. You will work on MOSA-aligned interfaces, optimize layouts for SWaP, and ensure MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-461 compliance while using EDA tools to analyze power integrity and thermal performance.

You’ll author test plans, perform hardware verification, and collaborate with a team to solve complex problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 6–10 years of hardware design, power electronics, or electrical system integration in defense/aerospace.
• Hands-on with DC-DC/AC-DC converter topologies, switching regulators, rigid-flex PCB layouts, and filtering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop low-noise multi-rail PDNs and power conditioning circuits for aerospace or defense systems.
• Build electrical interfaces that align with MOSA for easy component swapping and upgrades.
• Optimize power electronics layouts to meet SWaP constraints on airborne/mobile platforms.
• Ensure designs comply with MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-461 standards.
• Use EDA tools to simulate power integrity, thermal, and signal integrity for multi-layer PCBAs.
• Author test plans and execute hardware verification under harsh environmental conditions.
